For a month-long stint, the 128 photos chosen to be showcased as part of the 23rd annual Phillips Mill Photographic Exhibition represent every theme, idea and concept imaginable. Held May 24-June 21, the exhibition features a vast array of images that jurors selected from a pool of 467 photos submitted. In all, approximately 300 photographers entered their work for consideration. This year's event is being juried by Paul Grecian, of Quakertown, Wendy Paton, of Lambertville, N.J. and Rick Smith, of Philadelphia. Photographer Barbara Warren, of Yardley, has been submitting her work to the show for the last 15 years and said she continues to do so because "it's kind of a unique show." "It doesn't have a theme," she said. "It just focuses on the photographers as artists and photos as art." The exhibition provides "a lot of freedom" for its entrants, she said. The show has plenty to offer - even for non-photographers, Warren said.

Historic Sights Throughout Bucks County

Bucks County is filled with history. Events that founded our country and region took place in many towns and townships throughout Bucks County, which provide our area with a very rich culture.

Stover-Myers Mill was built around 1800, and renovated in 1834. The mill was used to grind grains into flour, with power supplied by a waterwheel. Cabin Run Covered Bridge is located a short walk from the mill. Stover-Myers Mill is a very unique place to visit, offering tours and picnic grounds.

Pennsbury Manor is a living history museum, and was built between 1682 and 1684. It was the home of William Penn and is built along the Delaware River. Visiting the manor will give you the opportunity to experience colonial life and activities, and have the chance to take a guided tour.

Thompson Neely House was formerly a military hospital and was built in 1702. The hospital was used for sick and wounded soldiers who were under command of Brigadier General Lord Sterling and Lt. James Monroe (Lt. James Monroe later became President of the United States). The home is located within Washington Crossing State Park.

If you are thinking of moving to Yardley, Washington Crossing or Doylestown, call me today at 215-519-1399 or visit my website for more information.
